On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, Grammarly will participate in #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to celebrating and encouraging giving around the world. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired people to improve their local communities, donate to charities, and help create a better world.
This year, Grammarly invites you to join the #GivingTuesday movement and help stomp out a truly global problem: illiteracy. A few months ago, in honor of International Literacy Day, we gathered the latest statistics from around the world to raise awareness about the importance of literacy. Literacy is an essential skill and human right, yet the numbers show that there are still 757 million adults who can’t read or write a simple sentence.

You can get involved by spreading the word about global literacy, volunteering with a local literacy program in your community, or donating to literacy charities like First Book or Reading is Fundamental.
And, on #GivingTuesday, don’t forget to show your support for the movement on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook by posting your #UNSelfie and tagging it #UNSelfie and #GivingTuesday.
