All writing can be helped by detail. Be sure to consider how to incorporate concrete, sensory details into your writing. This is true for fiction and nonfiction writing. Don’t just write that the weather was bad when, in fact, is was drizzly with a bone-biting wind that took the air from your lungs. If you are not sure which words to use, try playing with a thesaurus or with poetry to map out your character descriptions and setting descriptions.
November is National Novel Writing Month , or #NaNoWriMo, where thousands of writers around the world commit to writing an entire novel during November. Even if you can’t commit to writing a whole book, you can join Grammarly in our celebration of this month with #GrammoWriMo
